11. Baldwin, LA: Quawan Charles

When Roxanne Charles Nelson planned to pick up her son Quawan from his dad Kenneth's house to get a haircut, she became increasingly concerned when she couldn't reach him. Frantically calling Kenneth, they soon realize that Quawan is nowhere to be found. What happened next was a disorganized investigation and delay in responding, which made his family wonder if acting sooner could have saved his life.

.

The family's attorney, Ron Haley, Jr., spoke to Nancy Grace about how police failed to act swiftly

.

Despite the family's claims, authorities stand by their decision not to issue an Amber Alert.

Quawan's body was found several days later in a sugarcane field. He was face down in shallow water and naked.

After his death, authorities received surveillance from a home across the street showing Quawan willingly getting into the car of a friend and his mother, Janet and Gavin Irvin.

Janet Irvin was arrested in February 2021 in connection with Quawan's disappearance and subsequent death.
